Remembrance!

They say time heals wounds, but much time has flown
A part of me has moved on, but why does the other still mourn?
Not a day does pass without thinking of her;
I laugh, I play, I enjoy; but why do I still feel sad?
Every moment I miss you….Sister, I miss you real bad!

There’s a gaping hole in my life which refuses to get filled
The cement of friends’ affections seems unable to get it sealed
Half lies & partial truth help deflect her topic, though doing so is myopic.
I laugh, I play, I enjoy; but why do I still feel sad?
Every moment I miss you….Sister, I miss you real bad!

The festivities of Rakhi & Bhai Dhuj have long lost their charm,
Birthdays are just a token exercise, without the wishes which were the most warm
The laughter, the banter, the fights have vowed not to return
I laugh, I play, I enjoy; but why do I still feel sad?
Every moment I miss you….Sister, I miss you real bad!

She lived life to the fullest, abreast of the latest fashion trends
Wherever she went, she was a favourite among her friends
She faced hardships, and battled challenges with a smile on her face
She would have fought cancer too, but with a little bit of God’s grace
Six years is a long time, how time has passed
I laugh, I play, I enjoy; but why do I still feel sad?
Every moment I miss you….Sister, I miss you real bad!
